EXPLANATION VIDEO - OUR GYMNASIUM PREPARATION COURSES

Course structure

1

Part 1: Consolidate the basics

In the first part, we review the most important basics, close any gaps in the material and thus create optimal conditions for more demanding tasks.

2

Part 2: Practice exam tasks

The second part focuses on possible exam tasks. We take an in-depth look at the different requirements of the exam (see detailed course content), discuss possible solutions and hidden pitfalls so that you know exactly what you need to pay particular attention to during the exam.

3

Part 3: Practicing exam situations

Under pressure, many young people find it difficult to reach their full potential. The aim of the third phase is therefore to gain self-confidence, internalize strategies for dealing with test anxiety and be able to recall what they have learned under pressure. One of the things we do is write a mock exam, which is then discussed in detail.

Detailed course content

We deal with tasks at grammar school level right from the start. In our opinion, this is the best preparation for the exam. In order to close any gaps in knowledge, a repetition of the theoretical basics takes place at the beginning of each subject block. Our course content is based on the latest examination requirements and covers the following topics:

Essay
In order to continuously improve, our students regularly write essays on which they receive comprehensive feedback. The following aspects are also addressed in the lessons:

  • All text types that may appear in the exam (narrative, description, report, argumentation/opinion) and their specific text patterns
  • Plan the writing process: Developing and structuring ideas (mind map)
  • Writing process: Formulate text (structure, comprehensibility, expression)

  • Precise and varied formulations tailored to the target audience
  • Linguistic-syntactic linking of pronouns and particles, congruence of subject and predicate as well as the relationship between tenses

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay for tutoring in advance?

No, you don't have to. You will receive an invoice at the end of the month with all the tutoring lessons.

Can I spontaneously book more tutoring if I need to prepare for an exam, for example?

Of course - you can decide individually when and how many tutoring lessons you need. This can be significantly more one week than the next.

Do I have to bring the material myself?

You can also decide this yourself - many students would like to discuss the documents from school together and therefore take them with them to tutoring. However, we are also happy to put together additional material for you.

What happens if I am unavailable or ill?

As long as you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, we will not charge for the lesson. If you are unable to attend at very short notice, we will unfortunately have to charge you for the lesson, as we would like to pay the teachers their usual wages in such cases - and they have already fully prepared for the lesson.

Frequently asked questions

How big are the groups in your courses?

In order to guarantee optimal support, our courses are limited to a maximum of 8 participants in the six-month courses and 10 participants in the intensive and vacation courses.

Are you also available for support outside of course times?

Of course, we are always available for our students and are happy to help with any questions. We have group chats in the respective course groups to make it easy to get in touch.

What learning material is included in the course?

The course fee includes a comprehensive folder with theory, exercises and solutions. Students also receive access to our digital course platform with explanatory videos, numerous additional exercises and checkpoints. We are also happy to put together additional materials on request.

What exactly are repetition lessons and checkpoints?

In the voluntary revision lessons, all the relevant basics that were previously discussed in the course are repeated again. The lesson is recorded so that you have the opportunity to watch it afterwards if you are unable to attend live. Our checkpoints are specially developed interim tests that can be completed after each learning unit. This means that young people always know exactly what they have already mastered and what they still need to work on.
